Players of a youth football team in the northern Italian town of Desio painted black marks on their faces during a match on Saturday in solidarity with a team-mate who was allegedly targeted with racist insults the previous week.
Footage shows players of the Aurora Desio Calcio team with black stripes on their faces and showcasing drawings with anti-racist messages.
“We tried to transform a... Еще single horrible act into a great mass mobilisation against racism. So we organised this weekend where we are on the field together against racism with several initiatives. The epicenter is here in Desio but about one hundred clubs are showing support throughout Italy,“ Aurora Desio Calcio general manager Alessandro Crisafulli said.
On November 2, the mother of a player of an opposition youth team allegedly aimed a racist insult at an Aurora Desio player while voicing a slew of expletives at the 10-year old child.
