Hundreds of mourners paid their respect to Andrea Rinaldi, a 19-year old football player, who was laid to rest in Cermenate, near Como, on Tuesday, after dying of an aneurysm while exercising at home on May 11.
Rinaldi's funeral was attended by his former teammates and coaches from Atalanta Bergamo and AC Legnano, as well as the Mayor of Cermenate Mauro Roncoroni, who also gave a speech.
«I... Еще believe today is the most difficult day in my mandate as mayor. It is not easy to find words of comfort for [Andrea Rinaldi's] mother Elisa, father Domenico, and sister Giulia. Because there are no words that could ease a tragedy of that sort,» he said.
Salvatore Apollo, Legnano's youth sector coach, told journalists, «We received an amazing boy [on loan], an athlete of great prospect. And unfortunately it leaves us shocked, the way it happened. The way it leaves us here, the way he touched us [during his time here].»
