Italy: 'Still young' Berlusconi calls for 'great Marshall plan for Africa'

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi called for a «great Marshall Plan for Africa and Eastern countries,» during an electoral rally of his Forza Italia party in Milan's Manzoni Theatre on Sunday. After joking that he was «still young,» 81-year old Berlusconi told the audience of hundreds that he had convinced former US President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin in... Еще the past of the necessity to «give life to a great, great, great Marshall Plan for Africa and for Eastern countries.» Berlusconi went on to attack the judiciary, accusing it of being «politicised» and of provoking «five coups d'etat» which include the 'Mani Pulite' ('Clean Hands') nationwide investigation into political corruption that redefined the Italian political system in the early 1990s. Berlusconi's 32-year old partner Francesca Pascale was among the audience. Polls suggest Berlusconi's right-wing coalition — which includes Forza Italia, Matteo Salvini's Lega Nord and Giorgia Meloni's Fratelli d'Italia — is the most likely to secure a majority in the March 4 general elections.
