Еще and not my first visit to Italy. However it is once again a visit that is attributed to the issue of migration, and I am here to also hear how the city of Catania — and how the region — is handling the situation. And clearly, it is that, on some days, thousands arrive here, who need to be taken care of and need to be distributed throughout the country. And a very important point in my discussion that I held with the Interior Minister [Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti] was regarding the slimming down of the procedures — that is, it cannot take two years until a procedure is concluded."M/S Interpreter asking question to refugee *UPSOUND* (Italian): «How old are you? I have heard a lot of support for this, in Italy today, and I believe that we have no time to lose. If I get a majority in Germany, I will insist that the financing of the European Union will be connected with the terms of solidarity. Solidarity can be cherry-picking: sometimes solidarity in regional policy, sometimes solidarity in agricultural policies, sometimes solidarity in sanctions against Russia, 'Okay'. But solidarity in refugee policy, 'No thanks.' It can't continue to go on like this."W/S Schulz visiting cemeteryW/S Monument at the local cemetery of CataniaSCRIPTChair of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) of Germany Martin Schulz visited a refugee centre in Catania together with the Sicilian city's Mayor Enzo Bianco and Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti, Thursday.
