Italy: Refugees rescued by Danish cargo ship finally dock in Sicily

A Danish merchant ship, carrying around 100 refugees, finally docked in Pozzallo on Tuesday morning, after Italian authorities blocked it from doing so since Friday. After coming ashore, the migrants were loaded into buses and sent to nearby reception centres. Responding to criticism coming from France, Pozzollo Mayor Roberto Ammatuna said, «Our country can also be wrong, but France cannot... Еще afford the luxury to criticise Italy because France is not behaving in the right way on the immigrations issue. Another 234 African migrants have been stranded for six days off the coast of Malta, after Italy, Spain and Malta refused to grant mooring permits to a German migrant rescue ship called Lifeline.
