The 25th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council was closed by a joint press conference by Foreign Minister of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcak, Foreign Minister of Italy Enzo Moavero Milanesi and OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger, in Milan on Friday.
Presenting next year's chairmanship, the Foreign Minister of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcak said that «I would say we want to be realistically ambitious... Еще. We want to be a fair partner and a honest broker for all, for the organisation, for the participating states and once again for our people, for our citizens.»
The current co-chairman and Foreign Minister of Italy Enzo Moavero Milanesi underlined some of the successes of the annual meeting that saw the end of Italy's chairmanship and a success over the contested Nagorno-Karabakh region. Milanesi said «here in Milan yesterday the foreign ministers of the two countries, Armenia and Azerbaijan, adopted a joint resolution showing something that I will define as more than the mere will of pacification, but a real declaration of intent of making peace and making it in the interests of the population of the region.»
The annually held meeting saw foreign ministers from the 57 OSCE states discussing security issues and reviewing the organisation's activities.
