Italy: PM Conte receives vote of confidence by Senate

The Italian Senate gave a vote of confidence to newly appointed Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in Rome on Tuesday. Conte had the backing of both the anti-establishment Five Stars Movement and right-wing League party, winning himself enough support to get the required majority. His government was approved by 171 to 117 with 25 abstensions. Conte will seek a vote of confidence at the Parliament... Еще on Wednesday, the lower house of Italy's bicameral system. He is expected to win this, as the Five Stars Movement and League party have a stronger majority in the Parliament than in the Senate.
