Italy: Opposition protests against cut of parliamentarians in Rome

A coalition of opposition parties including the Sardines and Forza Italia joined forces in Rome on Sunday to protest against an upcoming referendum on cutting the number of parliamentarians. «We gather here in the square because we care about democracy, the fact that there is a reduction of parliamentarians means that there will be less representation for us citizens who vote,» said a protester. On September 20th and 21st, Italians will decide whether to cut the number of elected officials from 945 to 600.
