Starbucks opened its first cafe in Italy at Milan's central Piazza Cordusio on Thursday. The grand opening was a private event held on the entire square featuring 1,200 attendees. At the event, Starbucks showed a movie on the life of their outgoing chairman Howard Schultz and offered lucky guests an open-air performance by the dancers of La Scala Opera House. The first Starbucks in Italy is a... Еще special store of the iconic brand, located within walking distance of Milan Cathedral and hosted in the city's former central Post Office. Named ‘Reserve Roastery,' the cafe is 2,300 square metres in area, reportedly making it the biggest in Europe. It offers a variety of special coffee blends from all over the world, as well as pastries from famous Milanese pastry shops, and coffee-based aperitifs. Starbucks plans to open a further five cafes in Milan and other Italian cities in the near future, although these will be of the regular high street variety.
