Italy: Mourinho insists ear-cupping at Juve fans ‘not offensive’

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho defended his reaction at the end of his team's game against Juventus as he spoke in a press conference following the Red Devils' 2-1 win in Turin on Wednesday. The victory had Mourinho respond to taunts and jeers from Juventus supporters by cupping his ear and leering at the crowd. «You know what they (the fans) called me during 94 minutes? And the... Еще disrespect is my gesture? What they have done to me is offensive, this (the gesture) is not offensive,» Mourinho told journalists. Mourinho addressed Manchester United's comeback, which toppled a stunning volley scored by Cristiano Ronaldo, saying: «We are a growing team, with players of quality but without great experience, we are a team still looking for a balance. Their team is a team that wins six leagues in a row and buys a player like Cristiano.» On his end, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri downplayed his team's first loss in the season, saying: «We were lucky that it happened tonight because we have to see things also from the positive side, we still have two games and passing the group is still in our hands.» Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini weighed in on the loss, saying that his team «deserved to win.» «I do not remember ever having suffered a comeback like this at home for the last three minutes,» he said. Manchester United's victory brings them to second place on seven points in Group H. The team could reach knockout stages if they beat BSC Young Boys on 27 November clash, should Valencia fail to beat group leaders Juventus.
