Italy: More migrants disembark at Lampedusa port despite overcrowded reception centre

Migrants from North Africa continued to disembark on the Lampedusa island on Friday, after being picked up by the Italian coast guard in the Mediterranean Sea. Roughly 50 migrants could be seen getting off the vessel of the Italian coast guard, and approaching vans. Over the past weeks, hundreds of people have continued to arrive on Italy's southernmost island, mostly from Tunisia and Libya. According to reports, a total of 872 migrants have arrived at Lampedusa port so far, resulting in overcrowding of the reception facility.
