Milan street vendors protested in front of the municipality building, on Monday, demanding that they be allowed to restart their businesses, as many others in Italy were permitted after coronavirus restrictions were eased.
Protesters holding placards can be seen shouting outside the municipality building.
«We are the only category [of businesses] that hasn't opened yet. Mr Mayor abandoned us. He... Еще doesn't want to restart our businesses,» said one protester.
«Europe has reopened: Germany has reopened, France has reopened. Us, in Italy, are also demanding that we reopen. Even if the coronavirus doesn't kill us; the hunger will,» said another.
Italy has been one of the hardest-hit countries by the pandemic and started easing the world's longest virus lockdown on May 4.
