The 'Ocean Viking' rescue ship docked at the Messina port on Sunday and disembarked 213 migrants who were picked up at sea.
Footage shows the ship, operated by humanitarian organisations SOS Mediterranee and Doctors Without Borders, approaching the harbour before migrants, including children, disembarked on Italian soil.
The migrants are reported to have been picked up following three rescue... Еще operations that took place last week.
According to media reports citing the Italian Foreign Ministry, the migrants will be redistributed by Italy, France, Germany and Malta, in an application of the sea migrant redistribution deal reached by said countries in September.
Doctors Without Borders reiterated calls on European Union governments «to ensure a sustained and coordinated response to the ongoing humanitarian disaster in the Mediterranean» on Twitter.
