Thousands of people rallied against fascism and racism in Rome on Saturday, as part of a nationwide day of anti-far right demonstrations. Demonstrators marched from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza del Popolo in a rally organised by the National Association of Italian Partisans (ANPI) under the slogan 'Fascism never again, racism never again.' Exponents of different Italian unions and left... Еще-wing parties were present, including current Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni and former Prime Minister and Democratic Party (PD) leader Matteo Renzi. At the Piazza del Popolo, ANPI President Carla Nespolo took to the stage to say «We absolutely don't want the tragedies of Fascism and Nazism to repeat themselves. We are not scared of fascists.» Anti-fascist demonstrations took place in Milan and Palermo on the same day, in a tense political climate ahead of the March 4 general elections.
