Protesters clashed with police in central Rome on Saturday, during a demonstration against the new partial lockdown planned by the Italian government.
Members of the «Macherine tricolori» («Tricolour masks») far-right group were seen protesting and confronting police at Campo de Fiori square with officers responding with batons.
Italy reported a record number of over 31,000 new COVID-19 cases on Friday.
On October 25, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced the latest round of measures to slow down the spread of the virus. They include the closure of bars and restaurants at 18.00, as well as full closures of gyms, cinemas, and swimming pools.
