One hundred people were evacuated Tuesday after an avalanche struck Sestriere village in Western Italy a day earlier.
The footage shows houses blocked by snow after two meters fell in 48 hours.
«The snow is up to third floor. It’s incredible. Thank god I’m still alive,» comments Teresa Rosamelia, Sestriere resident.
People tried to clear balconies and roads, with some saying it's the first... Еще time they had witness such a disastrous snowfall.
Mirko, a Sestriere inhabitant said, «I never saw a thing like this. And year ago, there was heavy snowfall. In 1997, there was another avalanche that reached the residential building Bellevue, but nothing like this one.»
One man was slightly injured but no reports of any fatalities.
Last year a deadly avalanche destroyed the Hotel Rigopiano, located in the mountain village of Farindola, killing 29 people.
