Italy: Bridge collapses as heavy rains hit Sardinia, no victims reported

A bridge collapsed in southern Sardinia on Wednesday, as the island was hit by severe storms. Heavy rains caused flooding after a river broke its banks in the area of Capoterra, a village close to the capital city of Cagliari. The highway had been closed by local authorities a few hours earlier as a precaution, so no victims are reported. Teams of firefighters are currently at the scene.
