Thousands of activists for LGBT rights flooded onto Rabin Square in Tel Aviv, on Sunday evening, to voice their opposition to a new surrogacy law that would exculde homosexual men from applying for a surrogate in order to have a child. Gati, one of the demonstrators claimed: «We came here to protest. We believe that we have rights like everybody else. We want to have kids and to live in peace... Еще and equality. We are against any kind of discrimination.» The legislation allows single women to apply for governments supported surrogacy. While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu originally supported the inclusion of gay men into those permitted to apply for surrogates, he ultimately voted against the proposal.
