Thousands of protesters flooded the streets of Tel Aviv on Sunday to denounce the violence against the LGBT community after an LGBT teenager was stabbed in a suspected hate crime on Friday.
Protesters carried rainbow flags and chanted as they marched on Tel Aviv streets.
«We live in a society that is homophobic, and transphobic, even though it claims to be very liberal and gay-friendly,» said... Еще activist Tanya Rubinstein who slammed the homophobic and transphobic rhetoric of Israeli politicians and religious figures.
«Two weeks ago the newly-appointed minister of education of Israel spoke in favour of conversion therapy for LGBT youth,» added Rubinstein.
The 16-year-old teen was reportedly stabbed by their own brother outside a LGBT youth shelter, Tel Aviv’s Beit Dror house, on July 26.
