Protesters against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as some of his supporters rallied in front of his official residence in Jerusalem, as Netanyahu and his former rival and Blue and White Leader Benny Gantz presented their new unity government on Sunday.
The police watched both groups, with one person seen being arrested.
David, an anti-Netanyahu protester said, that he «came to protest... Еще against the corruption» of the government. «I hope that on May 24th Netanyahu will respect the court, and he won't run away from his trail,» he added.
Another protester, Ariel, explained that «one of the reasons» why he came to the protest was «to make sure that Netanyahu would go to trial.»
The 35th Israeli government will consist of a coalition led by incumbent Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party and Benny Gantz's centrist Blue and White party.
The coalition is founded on the premise of an alternating prime ministership, in which Netanyahu serves during the first 18 months, followed by Gantz. The latter announced his resignation as parliament speaker earlier this week.
One of the pillars of the coalition is the possible annexation of portions of the occupied West Bank and implementation of US President Donald Trump's 'Deal of the Century', which was presented earlier this year in January.
