US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo attended the sixth summit between Israel, Greece and Cyprus on Wednesday in Jerusalem.
During a press conference, the Secretary of State renewed the US' commitment to support Israel against Iran, and used the occasion to criticize what he called an anti-Semitic language in politics.
«With the dark wave of anti-Semitism rising in Europe and in the United States... Еще, all nations, especially those in the West, must go to the barricades against bigotry,» Pompeo said.
«Sadly, we in the United States have seen anti-Semitic language uttered even in the great halls of our own Capitol», said Pompeo referring to recent tweets by Representative Ilhan Omar from Minnesota.
Omar has been called out in recent weeks for tweets criticizing pro-Israel lobbying in US politics.
