Israel: Netanyahu, Rivlin, and Gantz open emergency meeting with precautious 'elbow bump'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Benny Gantz were summoned to an emergency meeting by President Reuven Rivlin on Sunday with a seemingly never-ending electoral crisis as well as the ever-growing threat of coronavirus on the table. The leaders saluted each other intriguingly at the beginning of the meeting, with the ever-more-famous «elbow bump», a move being touted... Еще as the replacement for a handshake in the coronavirus era. The meeting was called in regards to the seemingly unbreakable deadlock that has triggered three general elections in less than 12 months. President Rivlin had earlier in the day decided he would give Gantz an opportunity to form a new government after his Blue and White party won an extremely small majority of 61 lawmakers compared to Netayahu's Likus party that earned 58. Gantz will have one month from Monday to form a government if he is unable to do so, Israel will be going to the polls without a concrete result for the fourth time.
