«Everything must be done» to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Thursday.
As Merkel called for zero Iranian military presence in Syria, Netanyahu stated the danger posed by Iran «has brought Israel and Arab states close as never before.»
«This new relationship is a great hope... Еще for the future, because I think it paves the way for peace,» Netanyahu added.
Merkel pointed out Germany «recognised the Jewish state,» emphasising that Germany will work on «an enduring peace between the Israelis and Palestinians with full force.»
Merkel landed in Israel on Wednesday evening, beginning a two-day visit to Israel.
