Israel: 'Heartbroken and appalled' — Netanyahu on Pittsburgh synagogue shooting

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said from Tel Aviv on Saturday that he was «heartbroken and appalled» by the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue in the US state of Pennsylvania in which ten people were killed. He added that, «The entire people of Israel grieve with the families of the dead. We stand together with the Jewish community of Pittsburgh. We stand together with the American people in the face of this horrendous anti-Semitic brutality. And we all pray for the speedy recovery of the wounded.» The gunman now identified as Robert Bowers entered the Tree of Life Synagogue in the American city of Pittsburgh on Saturday morning, where he opened fire on a congregation, killing ten and injuring a further six, including four police officers. Bowers has been taken into custody.
