Israel: 100,000 Palestinians to send UK PM letters in Balfour Declaration protest

Hundreds of Palestinians gathered in the Israeli capital of Jerusalem in protest against the centenary of the Balfour Declaration in 1917, Thursday. Students at the protest also announced a plan to flood British Prime Minister Theresa May with 'over 100,000 letters' of historical rejection with regard to the declaration via the British Consulate General, many also criticising the United Kingdom's... Еще failure to recognise the State of Palestine with full UN membership. The declaration, issued by David Lloyd George's government during the First World War, announced the United Kingdom's support for a «national home for the Jewish people» in Ottoman-ruled Palestine and has since been cited as a leading cause of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict having given validity to Zionist aspirations. May is set to host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a dinner in London on Thursday, an invite which Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has allegedly declined in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
