Ireland: Protesters march against vacant Dublin housing

Thousands took to the streets of Dublin on Saturday to protest against what they see as a rising housing crisis in the city. Protesters marched through the city and then held a sit-down protest on the central O’Connell Bridge bringing Saturday afternoon traffic to a standstill. They were demonstrating against vacant housing stock and rising homelessness in the Irish capital. The group Take... Еще Back the City have been active in occupying unoccupied homes over the past couple of months. In some cases they have been violently evicted by landlords under police protection. Currently the group is occupying a house at 41 Belvedere Place, despite a High Court order to leave the building.
