Ireland: Cork braces for Hurricane Ophelia as storm makes landfall

Hurricane Ophelia has made landfall in Cork, Monday, uprooting trees and causing damage to infrastructure. The hurricane, whose winds also brushed across the Iberian Peninsula, is expected to reach winds of up to 145 kph (90mph) but will recede into a storm by Monday evening when it descends on the UK coast. Schools and government offices have been closed, high-tide flooding expected.
