Protesters returned to the streets of Baghdad on Sunday, despite violent attempts by Iraqi security forces to suppress ongoing anti government protests.
Protesters were seen hiding behind self-made barricades and setting carpets on fire to hinder police forces from approaching while medics provided assistance to injured protesters on the spot.
Over 40 protesters have reportedly been killed... Еще since anti-government protests resumed in Baghdad on Friday, after a three-week hiatus. Protests began in early October over corruption, unemployment and lack of basic services. However, demonstrations were suspended after the security forces started using live ammunition, reportedly killing nearly 150 people.
