Several protesters were injured in Baghdad on Saturday as security forces reportedly used tear gas and rubber bullets to suppress ongoing anti-government demonstrations.
Protesters are seen helping injured people lying down on blood-stained streets in the centre of the Iraqi capital as the demonstration marched towards the former International Zone of the city, also known as the Green Zone, which... Еще hosts several government offices as well as foreign embassies.
Some 40 protesters have reportedly been killed since anti-government protests resumed in Baghdad on Friday after a three-week hiatus. Protests began in early October over corruption, unemployment and lack of basic services. However, demonstrations were suspended after the security forces started using live ammunition, reportedly killing nearly 150 people.
