Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi held an extraordinary meeting with members of Parliament in Baghdad on Saturday handing over his resignation.
Mahdi stressed the importance of stopping the bloodshed in the country after hundreds of protesters were killed in clashes with security forces
«The resignation became a demand as part of a calming solution. I hope that the parliament will find... Еще other solutions,» said Mahdi.
Nearly 400 people have been killed since the start of October in the anti-government protests. The Prime Minister announced his resignation on Friday, as protesters continued demonstrations across Baghdad.
