A new hand recount of Iraq's May parliamentary election started in Kirkuk on Tuesday. The elections were held on May 12 and were highly contested with the lowest turnout since the fall of pre-war leader Saddam Hussein. The recount has been ordered following reports of vote-rigging during the elections. Severe security measures have been put in place. There was an attempt to burn ballot boxes... Еще in Baghdad earlier this week and since then the ballots have been closely guarded. The recount will delay the formation of the new Iraqi government. The manual recounting will be extended to another six provinces in the next days.
