Iraqi forces «have full control of the Iraqi-Syrian border», Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared on Saturday at a conference in Baghdad. «Our armed forces have finally cleared the Ninawa and Al Anbar provinces and have full control of the Iraqi-Syrian border, said al-Abadi, adding «We have won due to our unity, when Iraqi unified stand together hand by hand and ignore all differences... Еще to act against a ruthless enemy.» «The enemy tried to eliminate our dreams and ambitions, tried to send this civilisation back to the dark ages», the prime minister said, adding that «with our unity and our determination we have succeeded.» The announcement comes two days after the Russian military declared that they have defeated all of so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL) in Syria.
