Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Baghdad on Sunday when the two officials held talks on regional and international issues.
«We stressed the necessity of keeping the region and Iraq out from the international tensions and protecting Iraqi sovereignty,» said Hussein in a press briefing after the meeting.
Zarif also stressed on Iraqi sovereignty while once again slamming Washington for its killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
«Iran and Iraq, the two countries at loss here, will follow up on this through cooperation. For us, this is really important that our neighbour's independence and sovereignty is not breached or threatened by alien forces,» stressed Zarif.
