Iraq: Iranian consulate set ablaze by protesters in Najaf

Anti-government protesters set the Iranian consulate on fire in the southern Iraqi city of Najaf on Wednesday. The protesters were reportedly outraged by the influence Iran has on the country's affairs. At least one person was reportedly killed with 35 injured, as police were trying to prevent protesters from entering the building. Staff at the consulate reportedly evacuated safely before... Iraq has been gripped by anti-government protests since October, when demonstrators hit the streets, denouncing high levels of unemployment, widespread corruption and a lack of basic service.
