Iraq: Barzani visits quake-hit Darbandikhan, promises compensation to affected families

Iraqi Kurdistan's Prime Minister Nechervan Idris Barzani visited the quake-hit city of Darbandikhan in Kurdistan region of Iraq, on Tuesday. Barzani arrived at the site with other senior officials and met with families who suffered from the disaster. As media reports, the top official held a press briefing saying that those affected by the quake will receive compensation and their houses will... Еще be rebuilt. Barzani added that Darbandikhan Dam, which suffered damage during the incident, will also be repaired. The devastating 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Iran's border with Iraq, Sunday night. Across Iraq and Iran at least 445 people have died and more than 7,100 were injured as a result of the earthquake.
