Iraq: Baghdad streets on fire amid anti-govt protest

People were seen flooding Baghdad's Tahrir Square, as hundreds took part in an anti-government protest on Monday. Debris was set on fire, with some of the protesters spotted running through the streets, throwing projectiles. The protesters had gathered in Tahrir square amid a series of power cuts, as temperatures soared to 50 degrees, forcing Baghdad residents to change their work schedules as air conditioning units could not be powered. Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi replaced Adel Abdel Mahdi in May following months of violent protests that began last October.
