Iran: 'We don't live in the 18th century' — FM Zarif hits out at Trump

The Foreign Minister of Iran Javad Zarif had harsh words for US President Donald Trump's administration at a ceremony held in Tehran to celebrate Africa Day on Wednesday. Right before the start of the ceremony, Zarif was interviewed by local and foreign media, where he addressed topics such as the freshly imposed US sanctions on Iran. «The United States is not in a position to obliterate Iran... Еще, they do not have the capability other than using prohibited weapons to do this,» he said. «We are not seeking war, we do not seek war, we do not seek confrontation. The actions of the United States over the past few weeks have been confrontational.» «I think President Trump should remember we don't live in the 18th century, there is a United Nations Charter and threats of war are illegal under the UN Charter,» he said.
