Iran: University students mourn victims of fallen Ukrainian airliner

Students of Tehran’s Sharif University grieved for those killed after a Ukrainian airliner crashed shortly after take-off from Tehran's international airport earlier in the day on Wednesday. Among the 176 victims were at least thirteen former students, reports say. «My friends were leaving the country for their education and their airplane crashed,» said one student. «I have been in shock since... Еще the morning, I cried several times because of this news,» lamented another member of the institution. «Apparently, our University intends to hold a commemoration ceremony for them,» she continued. Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 to Ukraine's capital Kiev went down close to Imam Khomeini airport at 06:12 local time (02:42 GMT). The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, although the Ukrainian embassy in Tehran believes it was due to engine failure and has ruled out any link to terrorism. Ukraine International Airlines has suspended flights to Tehran indefinitely. Some 168 passengers and nine crew members from seven countries were confirmed to have been registered to fly on the aircraft. **RESTRICTIONS: NO Access Israel Media/Persian Language TV Stations Outside Iran/Strictly No Access BBC Persian/VOA Persian/Manoto-1 TV/Iran International** **RESTRICTIONS: NO Access Israel Media/Persian Language TV Stations Outside Iran/Strictly No Access BBC Persian/VOA Persian/Manoto-1 TV/Iran International**
