The Middle East plan of US President Donald Trump, the so-called 'Deal of the Century,' was condemned as a «great conspiracy» by an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson in Tehran on Monday.
The plan «will destroy the prestige of Arabs and Muslims if it happens and succeed; which in our view will not occur,» added spokesperson Abbas Mousavi.
«We know cooperation between the countries of the... Еще region is the only solution to get the region out of this crisis and tension,» he continued.
Mousavi also reiterated Tehran's position that it would not resume bilateral talks with the United States until sanctions are lifted.
The move by France, Germany, and the UK to activate the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action's (JCPOA) dispute resolution mechanisms was also criticised by Mousavi, who said that Iran might respond by withdrawing from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
Trump unveiled his Middle East plan on January 28 alongside Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in Washington DC.
While Netanyahu and his chief prime ministerial rival Benny Gantz have endorsed the deal, it was immediately rejected by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, with «a thousand no's,» as being one-sided in favour of Israel, and it was also subsequently slammed by the Arab League.
