Iran: Tehran 'doubts' Europe's ability to save nuclear deal — Deputy FM

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that although Europe appears determined in their attempt to salvage the Iran nuclear deal, Tehran «doubts their ability» to do so, during an interview with the Iranian state TV on Monday. Araghchi warned that Tehran will resort to «snap-back mechanisms» if the European signatories «fail to fulfill the promises they give us.» He added, «If we... Еще quit the JCPOA, everything will return to its previous state. This is quite clear, nothing is strange. I believe in the past two weeks we have made good progress, but are still far from the position to be able to say that we have reached a conclusion.» Araghchi called on the European signatories to propose Tehran an economic package that would ensure Iran's interests, adding that «it is Europeans who should finally address these [political and technical] challenges if Iran is going to stay in the JCPOA.» The Iranian deputy foreign minister also noted that «in the past two weeks we have made good progress, but we are still far from the position to be able to say that we have reached a conclusion.»
