Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called the United States «the enemy», accusing Washington's of «hostility» towards the Iranian people, when speaking to students in Tehran, Tuesday
«In the real sense of the word 'enemy', the one who is an enemy is America. It is not based on prejudice or a pessimistic point of view, but rather it stems from experience, a proper and real understanding... Еще, and the actual realities of the world,» stated Khamenei adding, «They are hostile to the very existence of a tireless nation, this nation which has stood against them, the nation which is not afraid to face an enemy.»
He went on to lambast the US President Donald Trump for calling Iran a «terrorist nation», saying such a stance is «foolish» adding that Washington is «unable to see or access the situation correctly and is going to fail.»
The Iranian leader's meeting with students took place two days before the country's 'National Day Against Global Arrogance' which is celebrated on November 4th every year to mark the takeover of the US embassy in Tehran in 1979. Thousands of students from across the country participated in the meeting.
