Hundreds of Iranian students gathered in Tehran on Wednesday, to protest against US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. A group of Quds-advocate students gathered in front of the Swiss embassy where they burned the US flag and chanted anti-US and anti-Israel slogans while holding placards and banners. «US and Israel should know that they will regret... Еще their move,» said one student, while another added that the «US can’t choose the Holy Quds [Jerusalem] as the capital of the country, we don’t recognise it. Quds is always Palestine for us.» Hossein Ali Allameh who rallied alongside the students said «the US has global arrogance and wants to dominate us all, we have come here together to show our hatred for the US to the entire world.» On December 5, Trump recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Israel during a live televised address from Washington DC. The decision sparked immediate international outrage and fury. The status of the Holy City is seen as a key issue in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
