Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) held a large-scale military drill in the Strait of Hormuz, and on land in the region, on Tuesday morning. The drills used a mock aircraft carrier as a target, reportedly simulating a US vessel.
“Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps aiming to improve the level of their combat preparedness, after organising hierarchies and staff, this morning, performed the successful phase of the fourteenth huge and mutual 'Great Prophet 14' drill in the public zone of Hormozgan province, in the Persian Gulf area and the western side of the Strait of Hormuz on ground, sea, air, and in space,» stated drill spokesperson Abbas Nilforoshan.
Senior members of the IRGC including Commander in Chief Hussein Salami were present to oversee the tests. Footage highlights machine guns, rocket launchers, helicopter missiles and deep sea divers completing drills around the mock aircraft carrier reportedly built specifically for the drills by the IRGC.
