Iran: 'Pirates of the Queen' cartoon exhibition explores tensions with the West

A cartoon exhibition focusing on recent tensions between Iran and western countries went on display, as filmed in Tehran on Saturday. Titled 'The Pirates of the Queen', it shows around 40 cartoons by 14 artists depicting the seizure of Iranian oil tanker Grace 1 by the UK near Gibraltar on July 4. «Actually, this exhibition is the result of work of 14 cartoonists who have done all this at a very... Еще short time. 35 artworks were prepared for this exhibition in less than 3 days», said Mohammad Mohammadi, Public Relations director of Osveh Art and Cultural Center hosting the exhibition until August 16. The tanker was captured by royal marines on suspicions it was transporting oil to Syria in violation of EU sanctions. Tehran responded with seizing British-flagged tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on July 19. **restrictions: no access israel media/persian language tv stations outside iran/strictly no access bbc persian/voa persian/manoto-1 tv/iran international**
