Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei condemned Myanmar's recent military action against Rohingyas, speaking in Tehran, Tuesday.
The Supreme Leader called upon Muslim countries take practical measures and «increase political pressure and economic pressure» rather than engage in military action.
Khamenei criticised Myanmar’s State Counsellor and Nobel Peace Prize winner... Еще Aung San Suu Kyi, calling her a «merciless woman» adding that the Myanmar's recent military action against Rohingyas «will certainly lead to the death of the prominent award».
He concluded stressing, «The Islamic Republic of Iran should announce its clear and courageous stances towards these events».
The UN has estimated 313,000 Rohingya have crossed into Bangladesh over the past few weeks, amid widespread reports of indiscriminate killings, arson, looting and rape by the Myanmar military.
