Iran: 'Israeli State seeks to increase tension' — Iranian official on Homs missile attack

Iran's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araqchi commented on the Israeli air strikes on Homs Airbase in an interview in Tehran on Monday. Araqchi called on the world community to ‘be alert’ as he claimed that «the Israeli State seeks to increase tension in the region». He praised the Syrian government for their victories, noting that military advances “once again cost Syria’s enemies a... Еще lot. So they are trying to bring back the tension, and I think everyone should be alerted about it.” According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, the TIFOR (T-4) airbase in the Homs region was attacked by two Israeli F-15 jets on Monday morning. The missiles were fired from Lebanese airspace with media reports suggesting eight missiles were launched in total, five of which were intercepted by Syrian air defense systems. At least 14 people are said to have been killed on the ground during the incident.
