Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said there was no point in replying to a message from US President Donald Trump, while meeting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tehran on Thursday.
Abe's visit to Iran is the first made by a Japanese leader after the Islamic Revolution in 1979, and an attempt to ease tensions between Tehran and Washington.
The Iranian Supreme Leader also said he... Еще did not believe Trump's willingness for a «honest negotiation» with Iran or his promise not to seek regime change in Iran: «He [Trump] is saying that they are ready to have an honest negotiation with Iran. We do not believe this sentence at all and honest negotiations are unlikely for someone like Trump. Honesty can be rarely found in US' officials.»
«We believe that none of our problems will be solved by negotiating with the US. Americans have the most enmity that they could have against us and they are continuing with this enmity. No free nations accept negotiations under pressure,» he continued.
Khamenei also reassured the Japanese leader that he has no intention of seeking nuclear weapons, adding that «The one who is talking about nuclear weapons [Trump], has thousands of nuclear warheads in his depot. He has not eligible to say if a country should have nuclear weapons or not.»
