The 23 crew members of one of the oil tankers involved in a suspected attack in the Gulf of Oman were safely transferred to Iran's city port of Jask on Thursday, as confirmed by Director General of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Organization, Allah-Morad Afifipour, in Tehran.

The two ships, one carrying oil and the other a cargo of chemicals, were reportedly attacked in the Strait of Hormuz earlier on Thursday.
Following the incident, for which no cause has been determined so far, both Iran and the US claimed they were assisting the evacuated crew members.
