Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov signed a bilateral agreement with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday in order to work on international issues such as fight against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIL/ISIS).
«Despite some progress in the Syrian settlement and in the fight against terrorism, the threat posed by ISIS has... Еще not gone away. Representatives of this criminal group are spreading around the world, including in areas close to Russia [and] Indonesia» said Lavrov.
The two countries also expressed commitment to ensuring peace in the Middle East: «Regarding the solution of the problem of ensuring Palestinian unity, Russia and Indonesia are doing a lot in trying to help find solutions that would ensure peace, tranquillity and security in the Middle East for all countries, including Palestine» added the Russian FM.
