India: Salkocha village underwater as Assam floods kill 66, affect 3.5 million

Floods caused by heavy monsoons in Assam killed at least 66 residents, causing severe damage in towns and villages across the region, as seen in the phone footage filmed in Salkocha on Wednesday. The main road running across the village connecting it to the nearby towns remained underwater, paralysing the life of entire community. At least 3.574 million Assam residents have been affected by the floods, according to the State Disaster Management Authority.
